Medway Fuse Festival

OK - as well as loving all things sparkly I am also a bit of a lighting/photography geek and the Medway Fuse Festival (an annual arts festival run by the local council) has given me a great chance to 1. sit outside on a picnic blanket and drink in the summer sun and 2. watch some amazing acts and 3. take some pretty pics........

Hello Hello

My name is Laura Murphy - I am a freelance artist/designer and I run 'Like a magpie' - I make and supply a range of handmade wall hangings and interior products for grown ups who like a bit of sparkle (but without a trace of tackiness!). Everything has a bit of sparkle - from canvases drenched in sequins to just a touch of subtle shimmer from using metallic thread...

I specialize in wall hangings but of late have also started making other accessories: - cushion covers, memo boards and pretty much anything else I feel inspired to make!

I work from The West End Studios in Kent (and in my spare room in the winter as the studio gets too cold!!)

Looking forward to meeting with likeminded souls and showing off and getting feedback on some new work I am making!!
